The loss of a primary relationship can be deeply life altering. The experience of relationships whether romantic, friendships, or professional involves many nuances. After a major relationship ends, connections with friends, communities, and family members change and you may feel a blend of loneliness, tentativeness, alongside optimism and liberation. Eventually, though, you start to rebuild, and you find yourself excited about what you are building and eager to figure out a new framework for creating and sustaining new connections.

Discerning relationships is a unique endeavor that offers services for individuals and practitioners that is focused on the dynamics of relationships. Offerings include supportive groups, clinical supervision, and consultation.

A Group Offering

Group Format:

The group’s format draws on the principles of relational cultural theory to discuss characteristics of relationships such as connection, disconnection, mutuality, and so much more, that are regularly being negotiated when people engage with one another across different types of relationships.

Through discussion, engaging an assessment of existing relationships grounded in neuroscience, and concluding with an exercise that focuses on mapping the types of connections in your life, you will develop greater clarity and confidence in your relational choices.

Connections is a group designed to support individuals 40+ who have been divorced or separated for over a year and have been in the process of rebuilding and are considering or are actively dating again, as well as desiring a space to reflect on the relational infrastructure of ones life.
